DOWN GOES SCOOPS!

Last Week: 2-6
Season: 50-46
Net Gain/Loss: + $142.50

Kind of a rough week with a bunch of misfires. It happens. It’s the reason why Venetian is building a second Plazzo tower and Mandalay Bay builds “The Hotel” as additions. They sometimes take you. But in an effort to sound positive after a rough election Tuesday for Scoops, the sun shines the next day.

MINNESOTA (-7.5) over Michigan: Steven Threet is listed as doubtful, but a backup QB didn’t help the Gophers’ D much last weekend. However, Northwestern was playing with overall more confidence, which may not be high for Michigan this weekend where they’re only playing for two things: the Little Brown Jug and beating Ohio State. If Michigan gets down quickly, it could be a Gopher blowout. I think the health of Eric Decker is what keeps this from being a runaway.
SCOOPS’ PICK: MINNESOTA 27, MICHIGAN 17

IOWA (+7.5) over Penn State: All of Iowa’s losses have been by less than 7 points. And the health of Darryl Clark may play a big part. With a jacked up crowd, Iowa keeps it close, but Penn State wins what should be their only possible trip up the rest of the way.
SCOOPS’ PICK: PENN STATE 31, IOWA 27

NORTHWESTERN (+11) over Ohio State: OSU doesn’t have the offense. Fitzgerald knows how to play it close and not give it away like MSU did to Ohio State.
SCOOPS’ PICK: OHIO STATE 27, NORTHWESTERN 17

MICHIGAN STATE (-9.5) over Purdue: No analysis provided.
SCOOPS’ PICK: MICHIGAN STATE 34, PURDUE 20

Illinois (-7) over Western Michigan: Why discuss a team I know nothing about?
SCOOPS’ PICK: ILLINOIS 30, WESTERN MICHIGAN 17

Wisconsin (-10) over INDIANA: As long as douche bag Bielema can keep his cool and his witty remarks to himself and not to officials, Wisconsin should win by double digits.
SCOOPS’ PICK: WISCONSIN 37, INDIANA 20

Alabama (-3.5) over LSU: LSU’s defense is struggling, and in every big game that Bama has played this year, they’ve jumped up big & quickly.
SCOOPS’ PICK: ALABAMA 34, LSU 19

TEXAS TECH (-3) over Oklahoma State: Tech is for real and I think it’s a good thing that a very good Oklahoma State team is their next test so they aren’t trapped.
SCOOPS’ PICK: TEXAS TECH 38, OKLAHOMA STATE 30

Florida (-24) over VANDERBILT: Florida seems to be hitting their stride and they’re trying to earn style points in case a 1 loss team is invited to the big dance.
SCOOPS’ PICK: FLORIDA 48, VANDERBILT 10

USC (-18.5) over California: USC is also trying to earn style points.
SCOOPS’ PICK: USC 31, CAL 6
